SAFETY FIRST
At Elturion your child’s safety and education is our very first concern. Although we try our best to take care protect each and every child, accidents still creep in. With this in mind, I urge every parent to register your child at least with “Crisis on Call” This is a company who offers expert medical service in a crisis situation immediately. It will involve a strap bangle to wear on the arm with a unique code. The cost of this is approximately R30 per person per month. More information will be available at the info evening.
INFORMATION EVENING 26 JANUARY @ 17:15
Please join us at the information evening in order to meet your child’s teacher and to collect the relevant information regarding the expectations for 2017.
Please meet in our school hall for a general meeting after which we will disperse to the respective phases/grades.
If you have a child in more than one phase, please begin at the child in the higher phase and then work your way down.
Information regarding the private extra-murals for this year will also be available for you to peruse.
DRESS-CODE FOR ELTURION LEARNERS
Uniform is a vital part of our school’s discipline system. Our children wear uniform as from Grade RR. Uniform must be neat at all times. We will not tolerate children being sent to school in dirty or damaged uniform. Please remember that uniform includes shoes and socks. Children have to wear their shoes to school. They may not arrive at school barefoot except for a Friday when we wear a slightly more casual look, namely a house shirt and jeans and white takkies only. On PE days when children may wear the school tracksuit, they may also only wear the white takkies. Under no circumstances may children go on an outing in any other attire than their outing uniform which is obtainable from the stockist. This uniform consists of a quantic short and an orange golf shirt, white socks and white only takkies. No child may wear PE clothes to school in the summer unless otherwise informed via an alert on the communicator or a what’s app from school. Foundation Phase children will do PE in their normal school uniform and the IP/SP children must bring PE clothes to change into for PE periods. Hair needs to be neatly tied up or trimmed for girls, and boys need a neat hair cut appropriate for a school going child. Our pre-school children are also wearing an uniform, which consists of the school golf shirt, navy quantic shorts, white socks, white takkies and the school Dri-mac. It is vitally important that our children are neat at all times. Parents of children not conforming to these expectations will be contacted to rectify the situation immediately. Thank you for supporting us in keeping a healthy discipline code for our children and for assisting them in looking the part appropriate to that of a private school learner.
UPGRADE OF SCHOOL PREMISES
Our school has been painted and cleaned up during the December holiday. The kitchen has also been revamped with granite tops. We will be putting up shade-netting over our new soccer and netball area shortly. Please encourage a sense of pride in our children and urge them to respect their school surroudings by keeping it neat and tidy.
LUNCH FOR BREAK
Please pack your child a healthy lunch for break. A reminder that no sweets, cookies or chips may be eaten at first break. Thank you for your support in this matter.
ELTURION WHEELS TRANSPORT SERVICE
Elturion Wheels is up and running again. Should you need to make use of the bus please contact Cindy at either elturionwheels@elturion.co.za or 012 654 6818 or 072 956 5758.
MARKED ITEMS
Please ensure that all your child’s school uniform and stationery has been clearly marked. This needs to be checked as laundry markers tend to wash out. If you have purchased uniform from someone else please ensure that you remark the clothing item with the correct name. Unmarked uniform will be sold back to the owner.
Thank you for your continued support in making Elturion the best
School with the very best teachers in the entire country. Without you as parents we would not be as happy as we are right now with our amazing children.
